Kudos to TSOLEliot..
---

This Roster has been updated as of today 7/24/10.

It includes every Historic and International Team named.

To unlock all of the Historic and International Teams, go to Profile Management and create a new Profile. Enter Spezz0TT (That's a ZERO not an O)

All Goalie Equipment for the NHL and International Teams have been updated.

It's as accurate as i could get. They are not 110% correct, but sure as heck better than the default 2K ones. No more pink and purple catchers, blockers, etc. A good bit of the fake International Goalies have the default Reebok gear on. I adjusted the colors etc, to make them a tad different etc.

All Goalie Equipment for the Historic NHL and Historic International Teams have been updated.

All Historic Teams from the 1950's through the 1980's were updated with the brown Classic Leather Equipment. The Helmets are all white and no logos on them at all. All Historic Teams from the 1990's used the same Classic Leather Equipment from above, but instead of brown i used all white. The Helmets were for the most part Team Color Specific with logos etc. The Historic Teams from the 2000's were updated with the modern pads and colors. For these i looked at some pictures and tried to get the brand and colors correct.

The old school leather pads were used above to give all these teams the "classic" feel!!

I know the above is not 110% accurate, but as stated above for the NHL Teams its way better than what it was. I may go through the 1990's Goalies again sometime in the near future and follow along some pictures from the year they played on that specific Historic Team.

Enjoy!!

So how did you do the player ratings? Are they the same as the 2K10 ratings?

Fiddy and TSOLEliot: Bravo for your work !!! That's asking a lot of courage and time. :blah:

Unfortunately, I can not enjoy it. I am indeed a PS3 player. :D
I would like to update my rosters for 2k8 too.
Please, have you a written form (word file for example) of the the characteristics to create players?

no, there not the same as 2k10 ratings. he adjusted guys a bit here and there. i do believe the past 2 years he went through and added 2 years of age to each player though.

maybe in the offseason we can do a ratings overhaul on each guy..

I am planning on doing a ratings transfer. I will transfer the ratings from NHL 2K10 onto NHL 2K8. I will probably do this by typing all of the players and ratings into Excel. Then I will modify the ratings on NHL 2K8 so that they match. It will be a chore but I guess I can do it.

I am not removing this until the United States men's hockey team wins a gold medal. Started March 1, 2010.

actually sharks, you dont need the Xport hardware.

you can buy the Datel Transfer Kit. from ebay etc. its like 15 bucks or so.

the transfer kit cable you get will work with the Xport program. the program for this can be downloaded from datels website.

once program is downloaded, plug in transfer kit cable and memory unit and then load up the Xport program and boom. your in business!!

still need the Xploder Resigner to get the file to work on your 360 though.

but this will save ya some money, well that is if you already have a memory card.

Yeah, I updated the ages and attributes the past couple years and throughout the season...(Carter went from a 89 to a 84 so far for the Flyers from last year to this year)

I didn't use a very elaborate system for the attributes although I reviewed what players were rated for 2K9 and adjusted back then...

Players who get injured a lot I adjusted durability...Veterans I reduced speed and agility as they got older.

I tried to adjust scorers to the following system
20 goals or more 80 offense
30 goals or more 85 offense
40- 90 offense

Best players were Ovechin, Crosby, Malkin, Zetterberg, and Datysuk.

I also looked at +/- and adjusted defense a little for those with extremely high or low numbers for 2009.

For the rookies, they all started very low except for the top 5 picks...AHL should be rated 69 or below or so.

I also tweaked accuracies..

Not a perfect system by any means..but just to let you know what was in my mind.

I'm finding 2K8 very enjoyable using the Default sliders with a few minor tweaks picked up along the way from Venom and Patty Roy...

Increased the fatigue, decrease the speed burst and hitting and you've got a very enjoyable game-

I love the face offs and the pro-stick once I got a hang of it (142 games in :chin:)

A bummer is getting an accurate shot total from the CPU..hence making the goalies save percentages horrid.

played a few 91 pens and 91 north stars games today..

first game it was 3-3 after the first period. 14 shots each..

i won the game late on a kevin stevens garbage rebound goal in front. so stevens like lol.

since i saved over my profile "doh" i lost my sliders i was using. bah.

so i dug up my old sliders on here and tweaked a bit..

http://www.2khockey....showtopic=18089

first post is updated with what i was using today..

goalie skill went from 60 to 0, to get more goals in the shorter periods until i get the hang of the game again. also bc of the higher scoring games in early 90's..

i may bump up defense a bit, but depends on what era im using lol.

there is a way.

you need a memory card obviously..

you need a datel transfer kit..

you then need the xport program installed on your pc..

you then need the xploder resigner..

---
1. download file
2. extract to desktop (or wherever)
3. open xploder resigner
4. open ea roster file in xploder
5. load your console id's
6. resign file
7. close xploder
8. open xport
9. open memory unit within xport
10. partion 2 ( i think)
11. drop the new resigned file in the nhl 10 folder.
12. done
