Those goalie saves are very impressive. I really like the camera angles on that clip also. Looks lifelike...

From the net cam view on the Nabakov 'goalline glove save' : Did you notice the Penguin forwards reaction?
He takes a hand off the stick and it looks like he is either pointing at the net like it went in (maybe starting to celebrate) or about to rest his arm on top of the crossbar... sort of a 'disbelief ' body language type thing after an amazing save...
If fighting is part of the game, why do they stop the game when a fight starts?

Is that the first we've seen of the Islanders' new jerseys?

I don't want to rat on WWTC, even though he beats my ass at 2K hockey. :) Those saves look bad ass. The biggest weakness in NHL 08's goalies is the lack of desperation saves, whereas 2K8's goalies look pretty exciting.

Agreed. 2K has really nice "save of the week" saves. Those saves look really great. I wish they will happen rarely so when you see one you will be "Holy f...there's no way he just saved that one!"

Those saves were indeed awesome but i have a question for WWTC. I am still on ps2. Do those saves exist there also? Thanks.

After seeing goalies close up on that video I have to say that they are really improved when comparing to 2K7. Now they actually look like real goalies.

Nice job 2k!

Is that Ovechkin goal a canned animation?

Those goalie saves look wonderful. It's true, as long as they are not flopping around like Hasek for every single simple save, desperation saves from 2k8 are already a plus point compared to the lack of them in NHL 08.

And as for the offensive side - Wow. I'm big offensive guy, so these kind of moves with the right players are gonna make me smile a mile wide.

To be honest, I was prepared to be completely unimpressed by these videos - but the 2nd one got my attention. One of my biggest gripes with the 2k series since Kush took over was the goalies - they've been nothing short of horrible - however, those saves on that 2nd clip looked great. The goalies didn't seem to warp over like they've done since 2k4 - instead, it looks like they actually dove and had to slide over. The animations also seemed pretty smooth.

My only concern is that it seems puck suction may still be around. Why is it that the puck hits the outside of D's glove on the first save, but then it's suddenly inside it? It should have dropped to the ice, not sucked into his glove.

I've been prepared to not really look much into this game, but I may end up considering it after seeing that. Hopefully there'll be some more nice videos like that showing some improvements, finally.

Looks like a player from pittsburgh skates up to the goal and put his hand on the goal bar, after the Nabokov save. Like a player could do in real life after a whistle. Real nice!

You see it best in the third replay of the save.
