just stating the obvious, proven fact lol..

as for the Panthers roster glitch. i removed all NHL'ers, down to 12 forwards, 6 d-men, and 2 goalies.

went to call a forward, no dice, tried a d-man, no dice!!

im out of ideas.. lol

Damn, I thought that would do the trick.

Sounds like the only way to correct it is to re-do the roster update and I'm more then certain you won't want to do that. I, for one, know just what it takes to do what you have done. Countless hours...

It's tricky to explain the why but they actually don't have a salary of $0.  It's a bug/glitch that Jagr[68] discovered.  If you were to release them into FA and re-sign them, a salary would appear.  Here's the rub...this new salary is based on their attributes as well as potential (that's key).  One warning: should you decide to re-sign or simply sign a FA with a $0 salary do not save the roster right away.  Once they are assigned a new salary instead of 0, it can't be undone.  That said, you may want to experiment a little bit to get a feel for what ratings+potential will garner a certain salary.  Also, should you continue to not save an repeat until you get a desired salary, it will change each time until you save.

I hope all of that makes sense.  I know it's confusing.  Luckily, Jagr[68] knew what I meant when I brought it up to him last season.  He understands my gibberish.  :)

What I think it does is takes those guys and gives them real numbers once you start a franchise, someone mentioned that a few pages ago.

When you tried it, you made sure that you had 12 forwards and/or 6 dmen on the NHL roster right?  That's the only it could work assuming we can get this to work.

Hmmm.. not sure but I think so.

I'm hoping the CPU corrects itself now that I've started a franchise.

start over from scratch? not a shot lol..

it doesnt really bother me, bc the Panthers have 23 man roster, its all good.. if you need to call up or etc, just have to make a trade between minors and big club.

i wanna touch on scratching players and editing lines really quick.

if you want to send a player to the minors, make sure he is scratched first. then send him down. why? bc when you send a player down that is scratched, it keeps the lines set to how they are. if you send a player down that isn't scratched the lines will auto correct and be a mess.

need to pull up more than 1 player, send scratched player down, then call up a player. put that player you just called up in the lineup, then send down another scratched player, then call up etc.

a very simple process..

hope that helps ya buds!!

i had guys PM'ing me at OS asking about that. figured i would just post that for everyone.

for the record, works for trades as well. make sure both players are scratched before making trade or even assigning to a new team!!

@Fiddy,
Have you enabled the "Coaches to Auto Manage the lines" ?

Some of my trades have been scratched players, or from the Minors... but other trades have been players that are already in my lineup --- in that case all that has happened is it left my Roster-Lineup in an invalid state (e.g. Empty slots). When I try to play a game with a Roster in an invalid state the game offers to let me manually fix it, or let the Coaches auto-fix it.

Just downloaded your v11 roster fiddy and i noticed a few things. Is it normal for player ratings to be so low like Brodeur only 71 bryzgalov only 69 etc?

And i noticed Adam Larsson is 22 years old?, he's only 19.

Zac Rinaldo is also only early 20's and he's like 31 on the game lol. Nothing major but is there a way to fix this or should i do it manually?

The goalie ratings are so low because of the edits done to help them move more realistically. Also for the ages on alot of players, you can't change them. They are players that were generated by 2K for the roster because they don't have the AHL license and you can't edit the birthdays, primary position, or player salary. The only time you'll be able to edit the salaries is when you are in Franchise or Season Mode.

Ya, read the Playing With Goalie Attributes thread and you'll see how the goalies were edited and why their ratings are so low. But it is all relative, all goalies are on a scale of about 77 I think.

Ratings are just a number, as long as it is relative and consistant overalls are overrated. Trust me, they play much much much better.
